Your NIR and UV/Vis PAT never have to leave the process. Expo Technologies’ Automated Validation Workstation (AVW) for use with NIR spectrometers that are deployed in the plant environment, is now complemented by a System Suitability Unit for their UV/Vis spectrometry based PAT instruments.
The NIR module allows spectrometers to be easily validated, by non expert users, without the spectrometer needing to leave the plant environment. We had been working closely with the pharma PAT community involved in the implementation of NIR spectroscopy for a number of unit operations, such as blending, drying, granulation, etc. It became apparent that the use of traditional photometric and wavelength standards in a plant environment was proving impractical”. Explains Colin Dye, Expo’s Business Development Director.
The AVW can work with most NIR spectrometers and can be independent of any NIR spectrometer software. It allows easy and reproducible presentation of the spectrometer, to traceable photometric and wavelength standards.
Also using traceable filters, the System Suitability Unit for UV/Vis instruments is able to verify operational performance prior to a process run. The control of this unit is one of a number of enhancements included in the latest version of Expo Technologies’ NovaPAC© software suite released this month.
Expo Technologies’ mission is to become the PAT development and implementation partner of choice for the pharmaceutical industry through meticulously documented and controlled specifications, extensive testing based upon formal risk assessment methodologies, and the design and development of robust systems based upon specific application solutions.
